GBX features a unique front page layout, and version 2.0 will push the envelope with features such as a CSS-based layout, WYSIWYG message editor and AJAX framework.General Features - User Authentication (every time a page is loaded) - Verifies the user's name and password using PHP sessions - IP Tracking - The user's IP address is recorded along with every post for viewing by administrators. Administrators may also click the IP address to trace its route. - Support for an unlimited amount of Categories, Boards, Threads and Posts - Customizable ranking system - Administrators may add ranks and specify the amount of posts needed to receive that rank, as well as the color of the rank. When a user meets the specified needs, they receive the rank, and their name changes color. - A dashboard which is displayed on the main page, displaying helpful information depending on whether or not the user is logged in. This includes: Personal statistics and current rank, recent personal messages (all PMs can be viewed through the PM window), users online, and board statistics. Members - View boards, threads, and posts - Create/reply to threads - Send and receive personal messages to other members of the forum - Search the forum by either subject, message, or user - View their personal stats, and stats for the entire board -- This includes PMs sent, boards viewed, threads read, messages read, PMs read, total clicks, etc. - Members may have an HTML signature added to each message they post, as well as a small user icon no bigger then a certain height and width, which is specified by an administrator Moderators - Edit posts - Lock/Unlock threads - Float/Sink threads Administrators - Add/Edit Categories - Add/Edit Boards - Edit the CSS layout, the template of the board - Change board configuration and preferences - Add/Edit ranks - Add/Edit member groups - Add/Edit announcements for each board, and for the entire site - View poster's IP addresses - Edit posts - Lock/Unlock threads - Float/Sink threads - Delete posts/threads/boards - Edit their own and other member's profiles - Set censored words - Ban/unban members by IP address, display name, or email address
